Trinity College Orientation
All incoming Trinity College students are encouraged to participate in Orientation Week, held each Fall before classes start. Orientation Week is an opportunity to get to know other newly admitted students, upper-year students, faculty, and staff, all while exploring Trinity College and the broader University of Toronto campus. The week is planned by Trinity College student leaders under the direction of the Office of the Dean of students and with input from community through the Orientation Advisory Committee. The week is designed to help facilitate your social and academic transition to university life. While orientation week activities differ from year to year, a number of traditional events, supports, and resources are provided annually.
Residence Only Student Programs
Trinity is also proud to host students in residence from other University of Toronto colleges and faculties. These students are encouraged to attend their local academic orientations and are invited (for a small fee) to join in a number of our orientation programs. In addition events and residence programming are also hosted free of charge throughout orientation to make sure everyone has the opportunity to connect and find community here at Trinity. Orientation 2026
The Orientation 2026 Program is being planned for Monday August 31st – Sunday September 6th. While we recommend attending to all (or at least most) of the programming we strongly encourage all students to attend on Monday August 31st for our Opening Ceremony, tours, and Matriculation (a traditional welcome to the college similar in style to your convocation which happens at the end of your academic experience). Orientation Coordinators – Farah and Kay!
Hi Trinity! We are Kay Park and Farah Elibiari your 2026 Orientation Coordinators. We’re excited to meet you in the fall and will be working all summer to make sure you have a great welcome and introduction to Trinity College. You’ll hear more from on us TRIN101, might see us at your welcome events, and we’ll look forward to meeting you in September!
Kay Park: I’m going into my 4th year in Political Science and Global Health Studies at Trinity College and have lived in the residence the last 3 years.
Farah Elibiari: I’m going into my 4th year in economics and public policy. I lived lived at Trinity College the last 2 years after living off campus in my first year.
We’re both excited to work at the Trinity College Welcome Desk for the upcoming year!
Please note that the Trinity College Orientation Program is being planned as an in person experience. To attend these programs students will be required to register and must adhere to all University of Toronto guidelines. Should public health recommendations change between now and August our Orientation team will be in touch via e-mail with all registered participants.

Trinity College Students
Orientation fees are automatically charged to all incoming Trinity students through their ACORN account, however you must register!
Registration opens in July and is available through the Trin101 Quercus page. Registration is open through Orientation week, but be sure to register early for access to our limited capacity events like the discounted Blue Jays tickets, dance at the Royal Ontario Museum (with Victoria and St Michaels College), plus fun day trips on Saturday and Sunday.
Registration numbers have been reported to our food services, space management, and events team for us to prepare for the week. We’ll do our best to support your experience but may not be able to accommodate accessibility needs or dietary restrictions reported after August 14st at noon EST. Registration is required to attend orientation and must be completed.
Some events have limited space and ticket sales info will be sent to registered students before August, so register soon!
Residence Only Students
Students registered in other colleges or professional faculties who are living at Trinity College must register to attend their local orientation to move in early.
A limited access optional orientation package is available to these students to participate in our limited capacity events. Registration opens in early August and closes August 17th.
Missed the registration? Don’t worry! Many residence programs and free events are hosted during the week to help you connect with the Trinity community. Check in with your Residence Don or Community Advisor for more information.

Public Transit

Toronto Transit Commission (TTC)
The TTC is Toronto’s public transportation system.
Fares
The TTC posts its fares online (Links to an external site.) for everything from single tokens to weekly and monthly passes.
Post-secondary students can purchase a discounted monthly Metropass (Links to an external site.); a Metropass allows you unlimited travel in a specific month on all regular TTC services. If you purchase a Metropass, you must obtain a Post-Secondary TTC Student Photo ID (Links to an external site.) as your discounted Metropass is only valid when accompanied by said ID; there is a small fee for the photo ID card.
The TTC offers priority seating (Links to an external site.) on all TTC vehicles for customers with disabilities.
Service Updates
Stay up-to-date with TTC delays and service updates by following the TTC Notices Twitter account (Links to an external site.) and find real-time schedules of buses, trains and streetcars using the Transit App (Links to an external site.)
GO Transit
The GO Transit (Links to an external site.) system is the regional public transit service for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, with routes extending to communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe.
Fares
GO Transit posts their fares online (Links to an external site.). You can use a PRESTO card (Links to an external site.) to obtain added savings. With PRESTO, the more you travel, the more discounted the fare is. You can also use the PRESTO card for the TTC in place of tokens. Information on GO’s Student ID is available on the TCard website.
Most students take a GO train or bus to a TTC subway station and then take the TTC to Queen’s Park Station (Links to an external site.).

Accommodations
Please contact the Office of the Dean of Students directly regarding accommodation of highly sensitive or personal information (trinity.deanofstudents@utoronto.ca) including any accommodations (e.g., dietary, mobility, interpretation services, etc.) required for your participation in Trinity Orientation Week.
Please note that we do our best to meet our community’s accessibility needs, but will require advanced notice to ensure that we can make these arrangements in a timely manner.
Fees
If you’re wondering about costs, don’t worry! Orientation is part of your College fees and the vast majority of the programming is free. If you are unable to make it to Toronto for orientation week and would like to request to opt-out you can do so by emailing trinity.deanofstudents@utoronto.ca with the details of your request. In order to be considered, you must request to opt-out prior to Friday, August 14th.
