MARTHA BAILLIE ’81 continues to receive critical acclaim for her writing. She recently reflected on her creative process and the inspirations behind her award-winning novels in a profile by the Faculty of Arts & Science.
ZEUS EDEN ’21 has been awarded a prestigious Chevening Scholarship to pursue a master’s in Climate Change, Management and Finance at Imperial College London. A public policy, communications, and sustainability strategist, Zeus has advised leaders across government, industry, and the non-profit sector, including serving as Press Secretary to the Mayor of Toronto and Canada’s Minister of Indigenous Services. He looks forward to returning to Canada to continue his work on climate change, Indigenous relations, and inclusive economic growth.
JEN GOMMERMAN ’93, Chair of Immunology at U of T, was recently featured in CP24 in a remarkable three-generation story. Her 82-year-old mother is beginning studies in Canadian Studies at U of T this fall, joining her grandson as a fellow student while Gommerman teaches as professor. “Just go for it,” her mother said of the decision to return to school, underscoring her belief in lifelong learning. KATHY KADZIELA ’13 has been appointed Director, Development at C.F. Crozier & Associates Inc., an engineering and consulting firm specializing in land development and building. Based in Collingwood, Kadziela works with engineering and landscape architecture teams to align urban form, infrastructure, and entitlement strategies from concept to construction. She brings extensive experience in development consulting, architecture, urban design, and real estate law, and has contributed to several award-winning projects across Ontario.
EUNHEE LEE ’04 was selected as a finalist in the 2025 World Hanbok Model Contest, held this summer in Seoul, Republic of Korea. The prestigious international competition celebrates the beauty and cultural significance of traditional Korean attire. Lee described the experience of representing Korean heritage on a global stage as both humbling and inspiring and looks forward to future projects that connect traditional attire with modern storytelling.
CANDACE MAK ’05 has been appointed Associate Judge of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Mak joins the Court with extensive legal experience and will serve in the Toronto Region.
PATRICK QUINTON-BROWN ’12 has won the Sussex International Theory Prize for The Rules of the Game: International Order in World Politics, recognized as the best work in international relations published in the past year. The award marks another research milestone for Quinton-Brown, who received the William and Nona Heaslip Trinity-St. Antony’s Scholarship in International Relations in 2016.
