ARBOR AWARDS
Congratulations to members of the Trinity community who have been recognized with 2025 Arbor Awards, U of T’s highest honour for volunteer service: Heather Gibson ’73, Stanley Ho ’94, Hilary Pearson ’76 , Almos Tassonyi ’74, Steven ’80 and Pam Popoff ’80, Randall Baran-Chong ’08, and Richard D. Phillips ’90. The awards will be presented at the Arbor Awards ceremony in January. Read the full citations here.

GRAEME CLARK ’82 has retired from the foreign service following his most recent assignment as Canada’s Ambassador to Mexico. He has been appointed a Senior Fellow at the University of Ottawa’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs.
BRIAN IMRIE ’83 has been appointed Chair of the Board of Sherritt International Corporation, where he also joins as an independent director. He brings extensive leadership and mining-sector experience to the role, drawing on senior positions at PPX Mining Corp., Snow Lake Resources Ltd., KPMG, National Bank Financial, Credit Suisse First Boston, and Morgan Stanley.
HILARY PEARSON ’76 has been re-elected by Brock University’s Senate to a third term as Chancellor, beginning July 1, 2026. A nationally recognized leader in philanthropy and community engagement, she has served in senior policy roles in the federal government, advised major Canadian corporations, and was the founding President of Philanthropic Foundations Canada. Pearson was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2018 and, with her husband Michael Sabia, has supported several student awards at Brock honouring the legacy of Laura Sabia
