JOANNA BAILEY ’05 has joined Henley Strategies as Senior Vice-President, Strategy & Communications. She reunites professionally with longtime friend LARYSSA WALER HETMANCZUK ’05, Founder and CEO of the firm. The two first met during Frosh Week at Trinity and now continue to share a professional path in public affairs and communications as Henley expands its national profile.
NICHOLAS FERREIRA ’20, Legislative Assistant to Nepean MPP Tyler Watt, brought his colleagues to campus in September for a tour of the Lawson Centre for Sustainability.
MAGGIE HELWIG ’11 has won the 2025 Toronto Book Award for her novel Encampment. The jury praised the book as a powerful reflection on compassion, justice and life on the margins. Congratulations! Earlier this fall, Helwig gave a virtual book talk hosted by Trinity College — a recording of the event is available here.

STEVEN WANG ’11 has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Venture for Canada, a national charity that equips young Canadians with entrepreneurial skills and opportunities. A Rhodes Scholar and social entrepreneur, Wang has taught on global affairs and AI governance at Harvard Law School and at the University of Toronto, and in the new year will teach at Trinity: AI, Governance and Democracy: Legal, Ethical and Policy Frontiers. He will also moderate the College’s inaugural Trinity Minds on Hot Topics discussion, Using AI Responsibly, on November 10.
