From the bride:
As soon we were engaged, we knew without a doubt that we wanted to celebrate our wedding at Trinity College, where we first met 10 years ago, and with our best friends from Trinity, Arjun and Farbod, as our wedding MCs. Our day was made so special by the presence of our loved ones, many of whom (including my family in France) live abroad and travelled to Canada to celebrate our wedding with us.
We also wanted to celebrate our cultures and our story — I wore a ribbon with my husband’s Mackenzie family tartan in my hair, I changed into an Arabic dress my cousin lent me from her wedding to celebrate my Algerian culture, our signature cocktail was a French 75 — a perfect combination of English gin (in honour of my husband’s British roots) and French champagne (as a celebration of my French origins), and instead of a wedding cake we had a wall of éclairs (my husband’s favourite dessert and a nod to Paris, the first place we lived together in a 9m2 studio apartment as students!).
